Fernando Alvarez

Strategy, Development and Alliances

In January 2020, Fernando Alvarez was appointed Chief Strategy and Development Officer, in charge of Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Partners and Ecosystems for the Capgemini Group. Since then, he has also been a member of the Group Executive Board.

From 2016 through to 2019, Fernando was Capgemini Group’s Chief of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships (GSIP). From 2014 to 2016, Fernando was Capgemini’s Chief Digital Officer and prior to this he was in charge of Capgemini’s Mobile Solutions global practices.

Before joining Capgemini, Fernando was Founder, CEO and Chairman of Abaco Mobile, Inc., an Atlanta-based software company that provided enterprise mobile software solutions for more than 21 years. In July 2010, Abaco and Capgemini began a transaction in which key Abaco assets were acquired by Capgemini.

In 2000, Fernando was rewarded as one of the 100 most influential US Hispanic business leaders by Hispanic Business magazine. He is also a former beneficiary of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. During his tenure at Abaco, his efforts positioned it as one of the few US Hispanic technology companies that achieved global success.

Fernando has a background in business, economics, and law. He is frequently invited to be a speaker at industry events around the world.
