Deliver the mobility experience users expect and regain the lead in the race to software-driven transformation in automotive

There’s widespread agreement that software is critical to the automotive industry’s future product/service strategy and roadmap. That makes it vital to succeed at software-driven mobility (SDM) via a rapid, yet controlled, process of software-driven transformation (SDT) delivering software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and associated mobility services.

Reasons for this imperative include customer expectations of seamless mobility experiences, plus the need to control product complexity while increasing flexibility and maintainability. In addition, SDT and SDM bring immense revenue potential for OEMs, and can contribute to sustainability goals.

Established culture and practices make it difficult for traditional OEMs to catch up with digital-native newcomers in this race. Too often, these established OEMs try to carry out SDT incrementally and in-house – an approach that has proved unable to deliver at the necessary pace.
