I’m Samir Khare, working as Vice President in Cloud Infrastructure Services at Capgemini, and I have been here for 11 fantastic years.

Tell us about your background and how you joined Capgemini?

I served in the Indian Army’s elite airborne forces for two decades before transitioning to corporate life in 2007. In 2012, I joined Capgemini and started leading cloud infrastructure deliveries to Northern Europe.

What challenges did you face when transitioning from the military to a civilian career, and how did Capgemini support you?

Transitioning to a civilian career wasn’t challenging for me as the fundamentals of professional behavior are similar in great organizations. Capgemini colleagues worldwide have shown warm respect for veterans like me.

What excites you about your job and your experience at Capgemini?

I find my job at Capgemini incredibly exciting due to the diverse range of roles I have undertaken. From delivering Cloud Infrastructure support to clients in Northern Europe, running global command center operations, leading global Cybersecurity operations, to setting up and managing the APAC Cybersecurity business, my experience has been enriching. Capgemini offers global opportunities, a multicultural work environment, and the freedom to pursue my vision for the future.

How has your military experience helped you in your current role?

My corporate experience, particularly in cybersecurity, has been greatly influenced by my military background. The core principles of security and people leadership remain the same, and with a strong foundation, adapting to new tools and technology is seamless.
