Intelligent supply chain

The supply chain is no longer an afterthought in business meetings. Supply chain leaders are now significant figures in their respective industries and are at the heart of ongoing transformation efforts. Greater resilience and sustainability, a major concern for all organisations today, is highly dependent on improving supply chains.

In our latest Capgemini Research Institute report, How greater intelligence could supercharge supply chains, we aim to answer the key questions relating to the new supply chain paradigm. To support our analysis, we conducted an online survey of 1,000 organisations across multiple sectors as well as in-depth interviews with organisational leaders.

The crises of the past three years have redefined supply-chain priorities. Efficiency and continuous cost optimisation, resilience, and agility to support new business models are currently the top three priorities for organisations, which must also address new market trends. However, fewer than 20% of organisations currently consider themselves able to handle today’s supply chain challenges with consistent success.

Achieving organisational supply chain transformation will be multifaceted. It will entail changes in technology, governance, capabilities, extended ecosystems, collaboration, and economic models for organisations. We conclude our report with concrete recommendations in these areas.
