Digital inclusion

We’re bridging the digital divide to ensure technology is an opportunity for all.

Digital transformation is exposing a clear divide that is impacting all regions and sectors across the UK. Basic digital skills are essential to working, receiving medical care, travelling, and staying informed in our modern age, but the poorest in our society are too often left behind.

We believe people should never be limited in work and life by a lack of digital skills, and that the next generation of innovators should be supported.

By using the skills and passions of our people, we’re bridging the digital divide to ensure we have a future where technology is an opportunity for everyone.

“DIGITAL IS THE WORLD OF TOMORROW, AND DIGITAL INCLUSION IS ABOUT CREATING ONE WORLD TO AVOID THE SPLIT OF SOCIETY INTO TWO CONFLICTING PARTS”.

Paul Hermelin, Chairman of Capgemini

Our objective

Helping society address the impact of the digital revolution

Digital literacy is more vital than ever and can determine whether or not an individual is included or excluded in today’s world. As part of our efforts to close the gap, we are engaging in a number of initiatives designed to teach digital skills to those who need them, and to create new pathways into careers in tech.

Our digital literacy programme aims to support those who are currently digitally excluded by helping teach foundational digital skills and by aiming to inspire young people and women to pursue technology careers. We work in schools across the UK as well as with partners such as The Prince’s Trust and Digital Unite.

Between 2019 and 2022, we supported 490 trainees with free software developer training in the UK through work with our partner CodeYourFuture.

We look to create future-focused solutions that benefit our communities and charity partners. From hackathons and developing new services to the work with do with charities, we engage our people to develop innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges.
